Aiuruoca and Pico do Papagaio
Matutu Valley waterfalls and sunrise at 2,100 m
In the Mantiqueira range, Aiuruoca is the gateway to Matutu Valley, a 30 km² nature reserve. The name comes from Tupi: "home of the purple-breasted parrot". Pico do Papagaio, at 2,105 m, is the state park’s main rock formation. It takes fitness, and the summit view repays it.
